Brighton – up your day!

There’s something about being at the beach which makes life better and having your best friend there with you is the best thing I could ask for. I went to surprise one of my best friends holly at uni in Chichester and we went to Brighton for the day/night.
On our way to the hotel we walked though the cobbled streets of Brighton past the shops and of course went in a few … or 10.

After finally making it to our hotel we went for a spot of lunch … (me and holly can eat for England) we pigged out. We Went to a lovely restaurant called Buddies which over looked the beach.

We ordered the double chicken BLT burger and chips, large.
Now feeling like we’re going to explode we sat on the beach people watching ( I love to do this) and put the world to right. We were so lucky as the sun was shining and it was full of an amazing atmosphere on the beach and in Brighton.

Walking along the pier listening to the sea gulls and the terrible fun fair music that reminds you of your childhood. Having to play on the 2p slot machine are always a must then we sat and ate fresh doughnuts on the deck chairs while watching the sunset. We had dinner at a restaurant called Abadeen which is on one of the side streets in Brighton and I have to say the food and service was amazing! Me and holly shared a massive bowl of mussels in cream and garlic sauce and of course chips too!

The staff were very friendly, easy to talk to and made us feel at home.

Our waiter was very welcoming and was more than happy to stand and chat to us instead of taking our order and leaving.

It’s safe to say we eat our way through the day!

Brighton is a must especially with friends.

Top 5 Travel Essentials

I love going on holiday and seeing different places, but when it comes to packing I’m terrible I just want to take everything I own with me.

I have limited my self to only pack what I need not what I might wear or use.

I think packing for any holiday away is hard so I’m going to share with you my top 5 travel essentials ( excluding passports, money and phones etc ).

1. I have to say my most important travel essentials is suncream, I use Clarines SPF 30, why? I burn like there’s no tomorrow, I can be in wales in March and burn. SPF is very important to me especially as I have very fair skin. I started to use Clarins suncream about 4 years ago and found it just suited my skin which I was over the moon about, as I’d had reactions to a few others suncreams.

2. MAC Lip conditioner – This is new to my travel essentials. I think it’s great to take a lip balm away with you as your lips get dry and saw in the sun or wind and rain. I started to use my MAC Lip Conditioner in December and have found it’s kept my lips soft and smooth.

3. A Moisturiser – I use Dermalogica Intensive Moisture Balance moisturiser when I go on holiday, Because I burn so easily I like to use a heavyweight intense moisturiser to put on my face once out the sun just to keep my skin hydrated and fresh. I think everyone should have a really good moisturiser to take with them on holiday no matter what weather condition.

4. Moroccan oil – I started to use Moroccan Oil about a year ago and my hair is in much better condition and it’s grown loads since using it. So wether I’m in the pool, the sun or trenchal rain My hair will be needing some moisture. It also makes my hair very soft and shiny, which I love.

5. A Selfie Stick – It has to be in your top 5. We all need photos taken when we’re away and when there’s no one to take them the Selfie Stick is perfect, especially if you want to capture the view as well!

Marc Jacobs – Up All Night.

I got bought this Marc Jacobs lipstick set as a present for Christmas and I have to say that they are my now favourite lipsticks. There is one for every occasion. I love the way they apply, really smooth and even it doesn’t apply wobbly at all which I hate when lipsticks go on like that! All the lipstick come in a case which has a cute black tassel attached. The great thing about it is that it can be used as a clutch bag as well!

The colours that are in there are …

243- No Angel

246- Slow Burn, which is my favourite. It’s my go to lipstick.

200- Oh Miley!

226- Scandal
 and 208- Miss Scarlet.

These lipsticks are 100% worth the money, if you haven’t got one you need one.

My skin care routine

Skin care is very important to me.

Step 1 – cleanse.

I cleanse 2 times a day in the morning and at night.

The first thing I use is Precleanse, I put to pumps into my hand and massage into my face. You can apply precleanse over make up, it’s very good to get off stubborn mascara( a saviour after a night out!).

Once massaged in add water to emulsify, then rinse.

Second I either cleanse my face with – Foaming wash or special cleansing gel.

The foaming wash is amazing if you have breakouts, congestion or black heads as it has an chemical exfoliating formula in the cleaner. Since using this my skin has been 100% better I no longer have spotty skin.

Special cleansing gel I use every other night as I find it’s  gentle and it’s nice to give my skin a break from the foaming wash.

Step 2 – Exfoliate.

I found it hard finding an exfoliator to suit my skin but Multivitamin thermaofoliant was perfect! Although this product is for older skins I find it does everything I’m looking for. It has  physical and chemical exfoliants which I found help reduce the congestion on my forehead.

I use my exfoliator 2 times a week I apply all over my face, massage it in for 1 minute then I add water and it self warms I massage it in for another 2 minutes.

Step 3 – Tone.

Multi active toner – I spray all over my face and neck. I love it as it leave my face feeling fresh and hydrated. Its great to use on your holidays after a day in the sun.

Step 4 – Masque.

Multivitamin recovery masque gives my skin all the vitamins I need. It leaves my face looking fresh and hydrated, I use my face mask once a week. Apply a generous amount to your face and neck. Leave it on for about 15 minutes and rinse.

The mask is brilliant if you’ve had a heavy weekend.

Step 5 – Moisturise.

Depending on how my skin feels depends on which moisturiser I use, If my skin feels dry and need hydrating I use Skin smoothing cream it is a medium weight cream, or if my skin has been oily throughout the day I use active moist which I love as it is hydrating too! You only need a little bit of moisturiser as it travels very far.

Acceptance

Acceptance is such a big topic but I wanted to talk about accepting yourself for you.

Acceptance is the process or fact of being received as adequate

Learning to accept yourself for who you are is a really tough thing. Especially when your growing up through your teens or if you have low self a steam as you feel you need to impress the world but there’s only one person you need to impress and that is you! As soon as your happy within yourself that is when other people opinions no longer matter to you and only your own opinion should count, because everyone’s beautiful in there own way.

Change what you can’t accept and accept what you can’t change.

Too-faced

I recently bought the too faced hangover primer and the peaches eye shadow pallet when I was in Rome.

The hangover primer I had seen pictures of it on Instagram as I follow too faced.

For Christmas my dad had been to Sephora to buy me a few bits and bobs, if you’ve been to Sephora you’ll know that when you have purchased something there is a bar code on your receipt which you scan at the machine in the shop ( which I love doing) you can pick a few samples to try- it varies from perfume, skin care and make up!

What I’m trying to say is my dad had picked the hangover primer sample, which of course I used as I’d seen it advertised. I got 2-3 uses out of it and really like the feel of it especially as it’s not greasy on my face ( I have to admit I struggle with finding a good primer) I really liked it and found it made my make up last.

I was determined to buy it and Since I have I’ve used it everyday and My make up is lasting ,which is such an important thing as you don’t have to worry about your foundation fading or it going patchy after a few hours.

Id seen the peaches range advertised on Instagram and to be honest the main thing that attracted me to the product was the cute little peach on the packaging.

The colours in the pallet are perfect for me they are my favourite colours I love to use.
The pigment is amazing you really don’t need a lot on your brush and it goes far.

Plus the fact it smells like peaches makes the pallet even better!

When In Rome.

Rome is a place I’ve always wanted to visit so i thought why not!

Myself and Ben flew out on new year’s eve very early in the morning and arrived mid day. This was perfect as it gave us time to walk around and find where things where!

The only problem was our luggage was in Amsterdam and we were in Rome. Although we didn’t let it affect us.

The sights in Rome are unreal it seemed everywhere you turned or down every little street there was an historic building ready to explore!

We saw the Colosseum, The Roman Forum, The Vatican and many many more.

One of the main things for me in Rome was the food. I was more that ready to go and eat my body weight in pizza, pasta and ice cream.

There was two places that really stood out to us. First one was a little restaurant by the Vatican. The food was brilliant and so was the service. But, my all time favourite restaurant was Ristorante, which was right by our hotel. At Ristorante we only ordered mains, I had pesto pasta and Ben had the seafood risotto, before it arrived they brought over bread with balsamic vinegar and olive oil as well as bread sticks and after our meal they bought over a shot of limoncello and some pastries – complimentary which i thought was lovely and would 100% go again if I ever go back to Rome.

If you ever go to Rome you have to have the ice cream, oh my word! It was amazing, I had one every day which means i had 5! So I had literally eaten my body weight in pizza, pasta and ice cream.

SHOPPING!! Shopping is something i love to do when i go away well to be honest it’s something I love to do period!

The shopping in Rome was amazing they had high-street shops, boutique shops and designers shops ( 3 storey louis Vuitton which was insane ) the shops were on little windy cobbled streets with fairy lights from shop to shop which just topped it off and fall in love with Rome!

NYX Lipstick review

NYX is always a brand I always hear being mentioned on makeup tutorials, hauls and social media. It is a brand I’ve wanted to try for years.

So when I heard it was coming to the UK I was over the moon!img_2317

The first product i bought from NYX  was the intense butter gloss- Toasted Marshmallow. The main reason I picked this product was the colour . I am the sort of person who can only get away with wearing nudes or a deep colour such dark browns or a deep plum/red. I hadn’t read up on the intense butter gloss range at all or had seen it advertised so it was just at a win after I had bought it I feel in love. The product is creamy, great pigment and has a lovely subtle shine to it. It doesn’t dry out your lips the buttery soft feel makes your lips feel soft and moisturised.

img_2316-editedAfter such a good experience with the intense butter gloss i then went on to buy NYX liquid swede – vintage.

This is another deep plum/ brown colour, A lot darker than the first colour i bought.I found the pigment in this was amazing a full coverage matte finish although it does take awhile to go matte it’s not instant.

A few days after buying this liquid swede lip colour I had noticed a picture on social media of a dip dye effect using two other colours(- sway and amethyst) in that range so I just had to go and get them to recreate what id’ seen! (The colours in this range are so fun.) Although I have never used either of those colours since. But they kept up the standard of the liquid swede range.

Last but not least the extra creamy round stick, I bought two of these -snow white and chaos.

I love the way it feels when it’s applied it is super creamy, it just glides on with an gorgeous appearance on the lip. Chaos is more of a pink/red colour. I have to say this colour looked a lot different in the shop to what it did at home as I wouldn’t of bought it. It is a beautiful colour although I don’t think i’ll be able to pull it off. However Snow white is a deeper red. I wore this colour the other day, i was unsure on how long it would last especially as I was going out for lunch, to say the least it lasted surprisingly well as i had a cheese burger! I was very impressed.

Eyeliner – Just wing it!

Eyeliner, one of the most important steps in your makeup look! Eyeliner is one of the hardest application to get to grips with and it can either make or break your look – For example if the liner looks different on each eye or if you’re going for a natural makeup look but go to heavy on the liner or the lines are not straight  – like they say eyeliner can sense your fear!

When it comes to eyeliner everyone has there own preference I Personally prefer the gel liner. Why? I find it’s easier to apply, it’s a better coverage and it’s easier to correct with the right brush.

Maybelline Gel Eyeliner 1.png                                                                  Maybelline gel eyeliner

Growing up I tried pencil liner, liquid liner but then I discovered Maybelline gel liner and found it so much easier to apply and that I didn’t look completely ridiculous.

If you’re starting out in the world of eyeliner I would recommend Maybelline gel eyeliner, apply with a small angled brush this i found made my application easier and better.

                                               High Definition angled brow brush

                                                     High Definition duo gel liner

                                                       Zoeva 317 wing liner brush

If you’re ready to take that extra step i’d highly recommend the high definition duo gel liner it has a mixture of black liner and brown liner. Brown eyeliner is great if you just want a subtle day to day look or if you like to be more adventurous and want to make your eyes pop the black is great especially alongside a smokey eye. The perfect companion to use alongside the high definition duo gel liner is the high definition angled brow brush for the application, they work brilliantly together. But if you can get your hands on a zoeva 317 wing liner brush buy it! Its one of my favourites to use.
